The diversity of Chrysomelidae (Coleoptera) in Galicia, Northwest Spain was examined. A long-term sampling was conducted during 1996–2001 and 267 species were collected, but including bibliographic citations a total of 276 species were recorded. As a result of this study the regional inventory has grown from 83 taxa cited before 1998 to the current 276 species. Species accumulation models were used to measure the inventory completeness and estimate the actual species richness of Chrysomelidae occurring in Galicia. Estimates were generated by analyzing both the rarefaction curve from the long-term sampling and the cumulative number of species recorded from Galicia since 1866. Values of total richness predicted by these different methods range between 290 and 323 species. Therefore, it seems that between 85 and 95% of the leaf beetle fauna was recorded and thus the inventory has reached an acceptable level of completeness.  相似文献

Heavy metals were assessed in four species of sea turtles from the Baja California Peninsula, Mexico, representing the first report of heavy metal concentrations in tissues of post-yearling sea turtles from the Eastern Pacific. Concentrations of Cd measured in C. mydas kidney (653 μg/g dry wt) were the highest ever reported for any sea turtle species. Cd accumulated preferentially in kidney and the ratios of kidney to liver Cd in Baja California turtles were among the highest reported for sea turtles globally. Zn, Ni, and Mn concentrations were also significantly higher in kidney than other tissues, while Cu and Fe were greatest in liver, and all metals were lowest in muscle. With the exception of one value (69.9 μg/g in kidney of C. caretta), Pb was low in all tissues from Baja California. In comparisons across species, kidney of C. mydas had greater Zn and Ni concentrations as compared to other species, although there was no difference in liver metal levels among the species. Positive correlations were detected in the concentrations of Cd, Cu and Ni with the straight carapace length of C. caretta.  相似文献

The spread of invasive pests is an important topic in pest control and early detection is crucial for containment of invasive aliens. In this study the results of recent surveys on alien insects of ornamental urban plants in Portugal are reported. Overall, 13 alien species associated with allochthonous ornamental plants were recorded. Seven of these pests are new to the Portuguese fauna: Tinocallis kahawaluokalani (Kirkaldy); Illinoia liriodendri (Monell); Appendiseta robiniae (Gillette) (Hemiptera: Aphididae); Acizzia jamatonica (Kuwayama) (Hemiptera: Psyllidae); Dasineura gleditchiae (Osten Sacken); Obolodiplosis robiniae (Haldeman) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae); and Phytoliriomyza jacarandae Steyskal & Spencer (Diptera: Agromyzidae). Additional distribution data are also provided for other recently introduced alien pests in Portugal: Myzocallis (Lineomyzocallis) walshii (Monell) (Hemiptera: Aphididae); Platycorypha nigrivirga Burckhardt; Glycaspis brimblecombei Moore (Hemiptera: Psyllidae); Calophya schini Tuthill (Hemiptera: Calophyidae); Corythucha ciliata (Say) (Hemiptera: Tingidae); and Lantanophaga pusillidactylus (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Pterophoridae). Three species in particular (Illinoia liriodendri, Obolodiplosis robiniae and Phytoliriomyza jacarandae) were not previously found in the Iberian Peninsula. Details on current distribution, host plants and biological remarks are given for each species. Possible origin areas, pathways and impacts are also discussed.  相似文献

Un des problèmes taxonomiques les plus compliqués concernant les Trichoptères européens est celui de la plupart des espèces ibériques et pyrénéennes du genre Micrasema, habitants caractéristiques du Rhitral, ces espèces restant à ce jour imparfaitement connues et difficiles à déterminer. L´étude d’un grand nombre d´exemplaires (mâles) a permis de trouver une solution pour la plupart des problèmes. M. servatum (Navás 1918), distribuée dans les parties N.O. de la Péninsule; M. cenerentola Schmid 1952, connue du Centre et du N.O. de l´Espagne; et M. salardum Schmid 1952, connue des Pyrénées Orientales espagnoles, sont des espèces distinctes. M. gabusi Schmid 1952 décrite de la Sierra Nevada, est un synonyme de M. longulum McLachlan 1876, une espèce largement distribuée en Espagne. M. difficile Mosely 1933, décrite des Pyrénées françaises, est un synonyme de M. vestitum Navás 1918, espèce endémique des Pyrénées Centrales et Occidentales (France et Espagne). L´identité de M. moestum (Hagen 1868) pose un problème particulier : il est possible que sous ce nom on désigne actuellement une paire d´espèces cryptiques à l´état adulte, qu´il est pratiquement impossible de distinguer par leurs genitalia, mais dont les larves sont bien distinctes.  相似文献

Summary Two major lake periods were discovered in the sand sea of An Nafud and the surrounding areas. In Upper Pleistocene large lakes occurred around the dune area and in the interior of the sand sea. Their deposits were formed between 34 000 and 24 000 BP. The lakes were not conformous to the present dune relief. They had an extension of several km2 and a depth of ca. 10 m. Holocene lakes (8 400–5 400 BP) were of minor extension and restricted to the interdune depressions. Lake sediments consist of cemented sand, calcareous crusts and diatomites. Upper Pleistocene lakes were fresh water lakes, the Halocene lakes were mostly swamps depending on rising and falling aquifers in the dunes. Plant remains as pollen and macro rests show that the environmental changes didn't exceed the system of semidesert comparable to the modern plant cover. However, the Upper Pleistocene lake deposits contain some more soudanian elements as the Holocene sediments in the pollen spectra. Climatically the lake formations are interpreted as depending on a stronger influence of the mediterranean cyclones or an interaction of them with monsoonal air masses.  相似文献

Stratigraphic study of the Cova del Gegant’s sedimentary fill revealed different cycles of accumulation of typical interior cave and delta facies. A precise chronology for these deposits, the faunal remains and stone tools contained therein was obtained by radiocarbon, U-Th and OSL. Our results indicate that the Upper Pleistocene archaeological sequence dates between 49.3 ± 1.8 ka BP, the U-Th age of the overlying flowstone, and 60.0 ± 3.9 ka BP, the OSL age of the basal deposits. We have also directly dated the site’s Neandertal mandible to 52.3 ± 2.3 ka by U-Th.  相似文献

The orthotyline plant bug genus Ulmica Kerzhner, 1988 is reported from Korean peninsula for the first time, based on finding of the second congener that is herein described as Ulmica yasunagaisp. nov. In the Mediterranean climate regions, drought events are expected to affect the growth of forests ecosystems by changing trees growth rates and eventually inducing shifts in their growth patterns. Cork oak (Quercus suber L.) is a strictly western Mediterranean tree species periodically harvested for its bark, the cork. So far, cork oak has received limited attention for dendroclimatological studies due to its typical faint and erratic tree wood rings. Moreover, its distinct cork rings chronologies have been completely neglected. In this study we introduce an approach using cork ring chronologies dated back 9–10 years for climate response. Despite enhancing interannual variability and increasing statistical response to short-term climatic variability, still poorly understood, this study will possibly allow infer long-term climate response. We analyzed the cork ring chronologies of 55 cork samples collected in mature (under exploitation) trees in three distinct locations in southwestern Portugal. Cork growth recorded a high climate signal, with highly significant and coherent responses to the yearly climate-related sources of variation. We successfully assessed trends of cork growth via correlation analysis including selected climate variables among mean monthly temperature, monthly precipitation and, on an annual basis, eight precipitation indices. The high mean sensitivities and inter-series correlations found for cork ring chronologies combined with the significant variance explained by climate variables suggest that climate is likely one dominant signal that affects cork growth, but local environmental stresses can decisively affect this (climate) signal. Assuming cork growth as a proxy for cork oak growth, it seems conceivable that despite the trees being highly resistant to drought stress, cork oak woodlands in southwestern Portugal would have to face lesser growth in a global warming scenario.  相似文献

Toadflaxes (Linaria Miller) represent the largest genus of the tribe Antirrhineae (formerly included in the Scrophulariaceae) of the Plantaginaceae family. These taxa vary according to their ranges (narrow-regional–widespread), biological traits (duration, flower morphology, breeding system) and ecological preferences. No comparative genetic studies have been performed up to the moment and the levels and distribution of genetic diversity within this genus remain undocumented. We have conducted an allozyme study in 8 taxa of Section Supinae. Five of them are narrow endemic, self-incompatible, insect-pollinated outcrossers that inhabit relatively unaltered habitats. The other three taxa are widespread, small-flowered selfers that inhabit crops subjected to high levels of recurrent disturbance. Linaria taxa showed moderate to high levels of genetic diversity. Parameters of genetic diversity were directly addressed to differences in breeding systems. Mean number of alleles per locus, total genetic diversity and genetic diversity within populations were higher among the outcrossers than among the selfers, (A e = 2.28 vs. 1.23; H T = 0.24 vs. 0.13; H S = 93.99% vs. 54.2%) while genetic diversity among populations and population differentiation were lower for the outcrossers than for the selfers (D ST = 0.02% vs. 45.98%; G ST = 0.03 vs. 0.52). Gene flow within and among populations produced a higher number of different genotypes (mean N G = 16 for outcrossers vs. 5.4 for selfers) and migrants (mean N m = 4.58 for outcrossers vs. 0.84 for selfers) that were attributed to an effective pollinator service in outcrossing populations. Differences in the levels and distribution of the genetic diversity are discussed in relation to biological and autoecological constraints of each group of taxa.  相似文献
